A Device for Migraine Headache Prevention
Over 30 million Americans suffer from migraines. The NTI-tss (Nociceptive Trigeminal Inhibition Tension Suppression System) is a small plastic device that comfortably fits over your four front teeth at night to prevent migraine headaches caused by clenching and grinding your teeth. It is the first non-drug FDA-approved method to be a clinically accepted treatment for the prevention of migraine and tension headaches.
In a clinical trail, 82% of migraine suffers who used the appliance for 8 hours a day experienced a 77% average reduction in migraine attacks. The appliance not only reduces migraine headaches, but also the need for medication usually taken to treat migraine pain.
Relaxing the Muscles that Clench and Grind
The objective of the NTI-tss is to relax the muscles involved in clenching and teeth grinding. To demonstrate how the NTI-tss works, touch the muscles of your temples while biting down on a pencil with your back teeth as hard as possible. The temporal muscles bulge and intensely contract. Now bite down on a pencil with only the front teeth. Those same temporal muscles remain relaxed. This diminished clenching intensity prevents a hyperactive nerve response, and thus, prevents migraines.
